In April 2025, Phonics Club travelled to Gilgit as part of an important professional literacy initiative supporting educators and participating schools.

The training was conducted at Ibex Resort, Gilgit, by Dr. Fatima Tuz Zahra as part of the wider pilot-project programme.

Developing Sustainable Literacy Practice

Pilot projects provide an opportunity not only to introduce new approaches but to study and support how these approaches operate within real educational environments.

The Gilgit programme focused on building educators understanding of structured phonics instruction while supporting practical implementation.
